A welcome return to competative football - our first since Oct 31st 2009 - without 3 key players but hungry for football.

We started slightly rusty but after 10 mins we were back at it and took the lead. A great through ball from skipper Charlie Foulkes to Daniel Swabey saw him draw the keeper and slip the ball past him. A lapse in concentration had Llanrumney level within mins as we failed to clear our lines and they took advantage with a well taken equaliser.

We now started to control the game after early pressure from Llanrumney and A quick throw in from Daniel Gibbins down the line to Josh Harvey was slipped inside to Charlie Foulkes, who played in Sam Willis on a late run into the box to drill low into the bottom left hand corner - 2-1.

We were buzzing now and Josh Harvey and debutant Steffan Prytherch were at the heart of it - both players were excellent all game. Josh Harveys excursion into the box, saw Llanrumney backing off and he kept going to fire a rocket into the roof of the net for 3-1.

Steffan Prytherch was really finding his feet now and made it 4-1 just before half time, with a screamer from the edge of the box - a well deserved goal on an excellent debut.

We continued in the same vein throughout the first 20 mins of the 2nd half and Daniel Gibbins made it 5-1, reacting first to a great ball into the box, getting across his man to clip the ball into the bottom left hand corner.

The Excellent Steffan Prytherch bagged his 2nd goal, this time from the left side of the box - smashing the ball into the top left hand corner for 6-1.

With the game won the boys lost their concentration in the last 15 mins and allowed Llanrumney a consolation goal, but all things considered it was a good performance.

Special mentions for Josh Harvey and Steffan Prytherch - both gave superb performances.
