Whitchurch 3 - 5 Pentwyn Dynamos
                            Willis, Viney (2), Gibbins, Swabey

A real end-to-end affair that must have been a great one to watch - if you were a neutral!!
We knew what to expect from Whitchurch - a big, powerful side that play to the main strength - Mikey up front - and that is what they did. We decided beforehand that we were going to attack them as much and as quickly as possible - keeping the ball at their end more and away from Mikey!

It worked well as we took control of the game early on in midfield with Sam working hard closing down and making a real nuisance of himself, Danny pulling the strings and Charlie providing the steel.

Matty and Swabes were going at them at pace down both flanks and Chris doing the same at centre forward.

We took the lead through Sam Willis after 10 mins - a ball only half cleared fell to him on the penalty spot and he hit it first time into the roof of the net.

It was soon 1-1 as a quick counter attack caught us on the break - a typical Whitchurch goal from back to front in seconds and bang!

We re-took the lead when Danny picked the ball up and dribbled across the box and put Swabey in to fire in for 2-1.

Whitchurch equalised again just before half time with a cross into the box and a great volley into the bottom corner.

It was nearly 3-2 when another cross fell to their striker, who turned and hammered a shot but Bradley made an outstanding save flying to his right and palming the ball to safety - one of the best saves I have ever seen in Junior football!

2-2 at half time but we had just shaded it.

We started the second half the same as the first and went straight back on the attack - which paid off when Chris received the ball 25 yards out and Whitchurch stood off him, so he set himself and smashed in a screamer in off the cross bar for 3-2.

Danny capped a commanding display with a goal, sliding in to get on the end of a great ball from Will, who having beaten 2 men, whipped a ball in for Danny to make it 4-2 - with his 10th goal in the last 10 games.

Whitchurch got a 3rd when Bradley made a great save but couldnt hold it and their striker hit it in past a dispairing Sam Azu - who tried to stop it on the line but agonisingly couldnt.

It was now frantic as Whitchurch fancied a point and we tried to kill the game off - and we did when Chris finished it with our fifth goal - and his 8th of the season.

A great response after the Fairwater defeat- and without Caine or Steffan - putting last weeks poor second half into a distant memory. Their manager said to me after the game 'You out footballed us' - a real compliment to the boys.
