Pentwyn Dynamos Under 16s 2013/14

Rhiwbina Black 3-3 Pentwyn Dynamos

A tough game that ended in a fair result. Both sides gave it everything - tackles flying in - big support for both sides on the touchline and I couldnt fault our effort.

 

We took the lead through Ellis - A great corner from Chris dropped to him and he finished well.

 

It should have been 2-0 when a Chris sent a curling free kick into the box and Cian knocked it into the net - but the ref gave Danny offside and interfering with play - harsh as he had timed his run well and was attempting to play the ball legally. 

 

We held the lead for 15 minutes and it looked like we could be in with a chance of getting a result.

A lapse in concentration brough about the equaliser - a ball over the top caught us out and it was 1-1.

 

We had a wobbly spell and were soon 2-1 and then 3-1 down!

 

 It seemed unfair as we were palying well but Rhiwbina are ruthless and do take tehir chances.

 

Just before half time we got one back - and what a goal it was! Rhiwbina cleared the ball and it fell to Ben Pomeroy - he flicked it up and unleashed a volley into the top corner to get us back into it.

 

3-2 at half time and we knew we had to score first second half - we did but it took a while. We had to battle, tackle, head every cross and throw bodies on the line to keep Rhiwbina out - and we managed it. 

 

We always looked dangerous on the counter attack and Chris equalised with a well taken goal - racing onto a through ball and cooly chipping the keeper to make it 3-3.
